A customer's snide remark about my spice rack made me rethink everything

Someone at a cookout last month watched me grab my cayenne and said, 'you really just keep those jars in a plastic bin?' It stung because they were right. I spent the next weekend measuring my cabinet and built a simple stepped riser out of old pine scraps. Now everything is visible at a glance, and I actually reach for smoked paprika instead of forgetting it exists. Has anyone else had a throwaway comment that forced you to fix your kitchen setup?

The real fix is admitting you bought half that stuff for one recipe and never touched it again. A riser just makes the shame more visible.
