My phone camera app froze during a lightning storm at the river
Last Tuesday I drove out to the Puyallup River with maybe 15% battery left, hoping to grab a shot of the storm rolling in. Right as the first big bolt split the sky, the camera app froze on a black screen and the phone shut down a second later. I stood there in the dark with rain soaking my jacket and just watched the next three flashes hit the water with no way to capture them. That moment made me realize how much I rely on the phone to prove something happened instead of actually being there for it. When I got home and charged it, the last saved image was just a blurry boot from before I even left the car. Has anyone else had a big moment ruined by a dead battery, and did you end up feeling relieved or annoyed about it afterwards?

Got a buddy who drove three hours to the coast for a whale watching thing. His phone died right as a pod of orcas broke the surface. He just stood there watching them for like ten minutes, no pics at all. Says it was honestly the best way to see it, but he still brings it up every time we talk about that trip.
