Tried fixing a leaky faucet myself instead of calling a plumber

My kitchen faucet was dripping for like 3 weeks and I finally got sick of the sound, so I watched a 10 minute video on YouTube and bought a $12 cartridge at Home Depot last Saturday. After an hour of wrestling with the old rusted part and about 4 towels soaked in water, the drip stopped completely and I felt like a total pro. Has anyone else had a simple fix go way smoother than you expected?

Wait you got a faucet cartridge to actually fit on the first try without having to run back to the hardware store three times? That's some kind of plumbing magic right there, I've never had a replacement part line up perfectly with the old one. Last time I tried that I ended up with a different sized o-ring and water spraying everywhere like a broken fire hydrant.

Man @elliots23 is speaking the real truth here lol. I swear plumbing parts have a personal vendetta against fitting right the first time. Had the exact same thing happen with a toilet flapper last month, three trips later I finally got it to stop dripping.
