Spent $80 on a drain snake and it paid off in one weekend

My kitchen sink has been draining slow for months and I kept dumping Drano down it like a dummy. Finally got sick of it and bought a 25 foot manual drain snake from the hardware store for $80. Pulled out a clump of grease and food that looked like a science experiment gone wrong. Water was running clear in under 10 minutes and I felt like a plumbing genius. My wife still gives me crap for not doing it sooner though lol. Anyone else been putting off a basic fix that took way less time than you thought?

Whoa, $80 for a snake feels steep but that payoff sounds incredible!

Man, $80 is nothing compared to the satisfaction of watching that water flow free! I put off fixing my bathroom sink for like six months, kept using a plunger like an idiot, and when I finally took the trap apart I found a toothbrush and a wad of hair that looked like a small animal. Felt like a genius for about five minutes until I realized I could have done it in thirty minutes back in January. At least your wife only gives you crap for it, my girlfriend still brings up the time I tried to use a coat hanger and snapped it off inside the pipe lol.
