My neighbor told me I was using too much paint thinner on my trim job
I always followed the can's 50/50 mix for my paint sprayer but he showed me his secret 80/20 mix for lacquer and it cut down my drying time by like 4 hours per room. Has anyone else gotten crap from a pro neighbor that actually turned out to be good advice?

Funny how a little pushback can save you hours the next time around.

Started saying no to last minute "quick asks" at work and it changed everything. @caseywest you're totally right - one polite "let me check my schedule first" saved me from three hours of rework the next day. I used to just say yes to everything and pay for it later. Now I ask for 24 hours to think it over before committing to anything. That tiny pause filters out half the requests that weren't actually urgent.
