My kitchen faucet sprayer hose blew off at 6am on a Tuesday

I was making coffee last week when the sprayer hose on my Moen faucet suddenly popped off the connection under the sink. Water sprayed everywhere inside the cabinet before I could shut the valve behind the dishwasher. Turns out the plastic clip had cracked after maybe 8 years of use, and I had to run to Home Depot on my lunch break to find a replacement hose kit. Has anyone else had those quick-connect fittings fail on them, or did I just get unlucky with this one?

Oh MAN that is EXACTLY the same thing that happened to me with my Delta faucet last winter. I was getting ready for work and had water shooting everywhere before I could even figure out the shutoff valve.

Yeah same thing happened to me but what nobody talks about is the shutoff valves themselves, you know how they can just seize up after a few years of not touching them. I actually had to replace the whole valve under the sink because it was so stuck I twisted the handle right off. So even if you can find the valve in time it might not even work.
