Took me 2 hours and 40 minutes to void one $4.19 latte because our register froze mid refund
Back in my barista days at a shop in Boise, a customer wanted to cancel a latte after I'd already rung it in, but the screen locked up and the manager who knew the override code wasn't answering her phone. I ended up rebooting the whole system three times and calling the district office before some guy named Dale walked me through it, all while the line got to about 11 people deep. Did anyone else work retail where one tiny override turned into a full blown ordeal, or was my shop just cursed?
