Hold on, did you mean 30 cents off or three cents? @evah40 mentioned a lady with a coupon but yours sounds more like a straight-up argument over a discount. Either way, people who wait until the last minute to shop are the worst. They always seem to have the most complicated orders too.

Ugh, that reminds me of the time this lady came in right before close with a whole cart of stuff. She argued with me about a coupon for like 15 minutes, finally got like 30 cents off her total, and rang up to a dollar and some change. Felt like I aged 5 years in that line.
