That time a customer tried to return a half-eaten sandwich for a full refund

Guy walked into my sandwich shop, handed me a sub with one bite taken out of it, and said he didn't like the bread, and I had to just stand there for 10 seconds wondering if I was on a hidden camera before I processed the refund. Has anyone else had a return request that just made you question everything?

Holding that half-eaten sandwich must have felt like a weird test of your patience. Probably cheaper to just give the refund than argue with someone who already proved they'll eat a bite and still complain. At least nobody tried to return a air sandwich yet, that's my next fear.

I saw a video about this same kind of thing, a guy tried to return a full pizza box but he had eaten half the slices. The YouTube comments were roasting him. Reminds me of the time I heard about a lady returning a drink to a coffee shop because the cup was too hot. People really think they can get their money back for anything, like the sandwich bite is the cost of learning you don't like that bread. You did the right thing processing it though, sometimes its just not worth the fight over two bucks.
