That time a customer told me to just smile more and it somehow worked
I was working the register at a grocery store in Lincoln about 2 years ago, having a rough Tuesday morning. A older dude came through my line and said I looked like I was going to a funeral, told me to fake a smile for 30 seconds and my mood would flip. I laughed it off but tried it during a lull, and I swear my shoulders dropped and I felt less tense. It didn't fix the bad tips or the cold I was fighting, but it got me through the next 4 hours without snapping at anyone. Has anyone else had some cheesy advice from a stranger actually pan out for them?

Huh, that's wild. I tried it once too and it actually helped.

Oh definitely!! @blairf48 it's so good to hear I'm not the only one! I was pretty surprised too when it actually worked for me. I had kind of written it off as one of those things people just say works but doesn't really, you know? But I tried it on a total whim and it made a huge difference for me that first time. I've even started doing it on my own now when I feel a rough patch coming on and it really helps take the edge off.
