That simple return process at the grocery store took me 45 minutes

I tried to return a pack of chicken that was already expired when I bought it, and the manager had to print out three different forms, call the distributor, and scan my loyalty card twice. Has anyone else spent way too long on a basic return that should have taken two minutes?

The manager was probably just being thorough, not inefficient.

Thinking about this from a different angle, maybe the manager slowed things down on purpose to test how the team handles pressure or adapts. Sometimes being slow is a way to catch weak spots in the workflow before they become bigger problems. Could be the real goal was efficiency, just measured over a longer run than anyone expected.
