Luis at the tire shop told me "the loud customer isn't always wrong, but they are always loud" and now I'm stuck on it
I was waiting on a rotation at the Firestone on 5th in Columbus last Tuesday when the guy behind the counter, Luis, said that to me after a lady yelled at him for 10 minutes about a coupon. Half of me thinks he's right, some folks just want a show and the quiet ones get helped faster. The other half thinks the loud ones are the only reason anything gets escalated when the system drops the ball. Where do you all land on this, do you reward the volume or make everyone wait their turn?
Had the same thing happen at the Discount Tire off Hamilton Rd last month, some dude went off for like 15 minutes about a scratched rim and the manager ended up knocking 20 bucks off his bill just to get him out of there. I was sitting there the whole time with a bent wheel and got told it would be 3 hours. Still bugs me. The squeaky wheel thing is real but it feels like the system just pays people to be a pain. Luis is onto something though, because the loud ones get the discount but everybody behind them loses an hour of their day. I try to be the calm one but watching that guy get rewarded made me wonder if I'm just being a sucker.
