Hit 500 refunds processed at my register and now I see patterns everywhere

I work the front desk at a chain pet store in Ohio, and last month I crossed 500 refund transactions since I started in January. That number hit me hard because it means Ive dealt with over 500 people who were unhappy enough to bring something back. The wild part is the patterns I notice now, like how 80 percent of fish tank returns happen on Mondays after people buy goldfish on impulse during weekend sales. One lady tried to return a half-eaten bag of dog treats claiming her dog hated them, but the chewed edges said otherwise. Ive started predicting what someone will say before they open their mouth, like the classic I bought this for my cats birthday and they cried at the sight of it. It makes me wonder if other customer service folks hit a magic number where the job turns into a weird psychology game. Has anyone else crossed a milestone count and started seeing the same repeat behaviors everywhere?
