Found a trick for getting refunds approved without manager approval
I worked at a big box electronics store for about 4 years. Customers would come in with busted headphones they clearly dropped and ask for a refund. I figured out if I processed it as a "defective exchange" instead of a customer return, it would auto approve under $50. The system didn't flag it like normal returns. Saved me about 15 minutes of manager hassle each time. Anybody else find little workarounds in their store's system?

Tried something similar once, accidentally processed my own lunch as a defective item and got a free sandwich.

Think you're onto something there @grant_gibson, but honestly that just sounds like stealing with extra steps.
