A customer in Tampa told me my phone voice sounded like I was reading a script

She said it made her feel like I wasn't really listening, just waiting for my turn to talk. I realized I was using the same exact phrases for every call, like 'I understand your concern' and 'Let me check on that for you.' Now I make a point to rephrase things in my own words and ask a specific follow-up question early on. Has anyone else gotten feedback that made you change how you talk to people?

Oh man, that's so real. I feel like we all get stuck in these little speech patterns without even noticing, like saying "no worries" for everything. It's wild how a tiny bit of feedback can make you hear your own voice differently.
