I finally get the appeal of decorating with junk after hating it for months

I used to skip the clutter items in ACNH and thought people were crazy for filling their islands with random tires and old boots. Then I spent two days in a row trying to place a simple bench and flowers, and my plaza still felt like a parking lot. Out of frustration I tossed a rusted can next to the bench, and suddenly the whole corner looked lived in and real. That little ugly detail made the space feel like someone actually existed there, and now I decorate like that everywhere. Has anyone else found that adding a worn or broken item made a room or island click for them?
