Went back to my old hometown and the parking lot where JFK was supposed to land is now a Dollar General

I drove through Dealey Plaza in Dallas last month for the first time since I was a kid. The grassy knoll looked smaller than I remembered, and there's a guy selling t-shirts right where that famous photo was snapped. I stood there counting the seconds it would take a shooter to reload, but the traffic noise kept breaking my focus. Has anyone else visited a big conspiracy spot and found it way more ordinary than the documentaries make it seem?

Maybe the real crazy part is that places tied to huge national moments just become regular ground for regular commerce. It's almost weirder how fast these spots get swallowed up by strip malls and chain stores than the conspiracy itself. Makes you wonder if the whole event gets smaller and more contained the more time passes.

You gotta be smart about it too. If you're getting mail or packages to a place like that, use a PO box down the road for a few months. I switched all my auto-payments and deliveries to a friend's address and never looked back. It's a pain in the ass but the peace of mind beats having weirdos show up asking questions. Plus half the time these spots just end up as a vape shop or a mattress store, so nobody even remembers what happened.
