Still think about that guy at the bus stop who showed me the newspaper clipping

Back in 2018 I was sitting at a bus stop in Portland waiting for the 15 to show up. This older dude sat next to me and asked if I believed the moon landing was real. I gave some shrug answer and he pulled a wrinkled newspaper from 1969 out of his bag with a headline about the broadcast being delayed. He said the pause was too long and that was his proof. I still wonder if he carries that clipping everywhere or just that day.

Honestly, maybe the guy just had a personal hobby and you happened to catch him on his weirdest day. People carry all kinds of random stuff around, doesn't mean it's some big conspiracy. It's more of a funny story than something to lose sleep over.

Three years back I saw a guy at a bus stop with what looked like a full taxidermied raccoon in a pet carrier just chilling next to him like it was headed to the vet. Turns out he was a wildlife rehab volunteer transporting an educational animal to a school visit. People have weird lives outside of what we see for two minutes in public, this guy probably had a perfectly normal reason for having a cricket bag and a thermos.
