Got chewed out at a Denver rally over a fake FEMA map, now I check everything twice
Last month I was tabling at a street fair in Denver and some guy came up fuming about a FEMA evacuation map that was supposedly going to force his neighborhood into a nuclear corridor. I pulled it up on my phone to show him it was a flood map from 2018, but he just yelled over me and walked off. That got me wondering how many of these viral maps in the group are actually just old data or badly cropped screenshots. Has anyone else tried to correct a map claim and just watched the person double down? What do you say to someone who already made up their mind?
