Found a cheap way to test for listening devices with a cheap AM radio
I got paranoid after my ex started knowing way too much about my private conversations. Tried buying one of those expensive RF detectors online for $300 and it was junk. Then an old ham radio guy at a garage sale told me to grab a $10 AM radio and tune it to static. Walked around my apartment and got a weird hum near a smoke detector in my kitchen. Has anyone else used this trick or found something similar that actually works?

Did it freak you out enough to actually pull that smoke detector down and check?
