Debate: Was the Moon landing footage faked? I went back and forth on this after Talk 3 years ago with a guy at a bar in Phoenix

The bar in Phoenix thing reminds me that a lot of these urban legends start from someone who heard it from a friend. There's a simple reason the footage looks odd to some people, which is that the film cameras used at the time had to run at a different speed in the vacuum of space. It's worth looking up the technical reasons for that before buying into any conspiracy theories.

What if the friend who started the rumor actually worked on the Apollo missions and knew the real story?

Oh man, this actually reminds me of something that happened to a buddy of mine a few years back. He was dead set that an old grainy video from a 70s news report showed a UFO over Albuquerque. Spent weeks on forums trying to prove it. Then his uncle, who worked at a TV station back then, told him the camera they used had a sync issue with the power grid frequency. The whole thing was just a reflection off a weather balloon mixed with a glitchy tape. He was so mad he stopped talking about UFOs for like a year.
