Appreciation post: the 3-source rule saved me from a bad theory

I used to fall for every wild claim I saw, until I started checking 3 different sources from different places after a guy on a forum told me that in 2019. Now I won't believe anything unless I can trace it back to at least 3 places, and it's cut my bad takes way down. What's your go-to trick for vetting a story before you buy in?
