Watched a manager at the Wendy's on 5th ring up my 4 for $4 wrong, now I check every receipt
He charged me for a large fry upgrade I never asked for, and when I pointed it out he just shrugged and said the register does that sometimes. That was 3 weeks ago and now I stand at the counter and read the screen before I pay, does anyone else do this or am I being paranoid?
Checking the screen before you pay is just smart, not paranoid. That manager basically told you the register makes mistakes and he won't fix them, so why would you trust it? I've caught wrong charges at drive-thrus more than once, mostly from combos getting swapped around. Takes two seconds to look and it saves you from paying extra for stuff you didn't order. Keep doing it.
