Is the $5 fill bag at taco spots actually cheap or a trap?

My usual taco truck raised their price to $7.50 last Saturday in Austin, and the bag had maybe half the meat it did before. I walked away feeling ripped off, but my friend argued it's still cheaper than buying two combo meals. Between the shrinking portions and the rising price, is the fill bag losing its point, or are we just spoiled from the old deals? Has anyone else noticed their go-to spot quietly changing the math on these deals?
