Found a grocery store discount rack that cuts my bill by 30 bucks a week
I usually shop at the big chain near my work in Fresno, but last month I noticed they have this small cart in the back corner where they put stuff with damaged boxes or close to the sell-by date. I grabbed a pack of chicken thighs marked down to $3.50, some yogurt cups for 50 cents each, and a bag of salad that was still good for two more days. The trick is to go on Tuesday mornings right after they restock it, before other people pick it clean. I started planning my weekly meals around what I find there instead of the other way around. This week I made three dinners and two lunches for about $18 total, which never happened before. Anyone else have a secret rack or shelf at their local store that they check first?

My coworker tried that Tuesday trick once and found a whole roasted chicken for two bucks, but she dropped it in the parking lot.
