Cashier at the Save A Lot in Dayton called me out for paying $4.50 for bagged salad mix and she was right
So I'm in line with my usual lazy stuff, the pre washed greens, a bag of those little carrots, whatever. And this woman behind the register, she looks at my stuff and goes, do you know you can get three heads of romaine for what that bag costs. Not rude about it either, just said it like a fact.
I said yeah but its already washed. She pulled a head of romaine out of my bag and said this takes 90 seconds under the tap.
She was right. I did the math at home and I was spending like $40 a month just on the bagged stuff. Now I buy the whole heads and chop them myself. Took me two tries to not waste half the leaf but whatever.
Anyway the store brand dressing is still cheaper than the name brand and nobody can tell me different. Whats your best swap like this, the one where someone had to say it to your face
