That $200 boning knife I bought from a fancy online shop bent on the third deer I broke down
Three deer in and the tip already curled on me. Has anyone else had luck with that brand or did I just learn a pricey lesson?

Ever thought maybe it's not the knife but your technique? $200 doesn't automatically mean indestructible.

Honestly, the real hidden variable here is the steel's heat treatment, not just the brand or the price tag. You can have a $200 blade with a fancy name but if the factory rushed the tempering process, it'll chip like cheap glass. Ngl, I've seen budget knives outcut premium ones simply because the manufacturer actually dialed in the hardness correctly. Tbh, until you check the HRC rating and how consistent the edge retention is across the whole blade, you're just guessing.
