Had a butcher tell me my break joints looked like I used a hammer, switched to a bone saw and never looked back

Been cutting lamb for about 6 years now and always did break joints with a cleaver. One swing and done, quick and easy. An old timer during the Wednesday rush at my shop in Portland pointed out how much meat I was leaving on the bone and how ugly the cuts looked. He handed me his 14 inch bone saw and told me to try one shoulder. The difference was night and day. Clean flat surfaces, almost no waste, and the joints came apart in half the time I was spending with the cleaver. Been six weeks now and I've gone through 80 plus shoulders with the saw. Anyone else made the switch away from cleavers or am I late to this party?

The 1960s Craftsman saws are built like tanks honestly. @the_uma you got lucky with that old timer knowing his stuff. Those vintage models just run forever with a little tlc. Ive seen people restore them to better than new condition. Theres something cool about using a tool that was made before all this plastic junk.
