Appreciation post: Hit 20 years in the shop this past Tuesday
Honestly, it snuck up on me because I still feel like the new guy sometimes. Anyone else get that feeling when you hit a big number?

That feeling never really goes away. Time just does that weird stretchy thing.

Hold up, that's just not true. Some feelings get locked in place forever. Like that specific sting from a childhood embarrassment, or the gut punch of a first real heartbreak. You don't forget how that felt, not really. Time just puts it in a box on a high shelf, but the box is still there, full of the same old stuff. It doesn't turn into anything new, it just gets dusty.
