A warning from the county fair... check your grinder plates twice.
I was working the demo booth at the Clark County Fair last fall, grinding some pork for sausage. Heard a loud pop and saw a piece of metal fly out... turned out a tiny crack in the 3/16" plate I'd missed during cleaning finally gave way. It could have been real bad if a piece went into the batch. Now I hold every plate up to the light before it goes on. Anyone else have a close call with worn-out gear?

That's a solid reminder. Feels like a lot of gear these days is built to fail right after the warranty ends.

My uncle had a grinder blade shatter on him a few years back, sent a piece right into the kitchen cabinet. That sound of metal popping is no joke. Glad you caught it in time.
