Why does nobody talk about using dice trays for card games too?

I was at a meetup last Wednesday in Austin and watched someone spill a whole hand of cards across the table twice. I pulled out a simple felt dice tray and said try it. They fit perfect and nobody loses cards under the snack bags anymore. Since then I bring one to every game night even for stuff like Uno or The Crew. Has anyone else tried this or am I the weird one?

Yeah but have you actually tried it with a bigger tray though? Like one of those 12x16 ones that gives you room to fan out a hand?

Oh man, I actually think dice trays for cards feel kind of awkward. Card games need more space to spread things out and see the board, not a cramped little box.
