That moment my game group turned on me over a misplayed card
I was hosting a game of Settlers of Catan at my place last Friday when I accidentally traded away my only brick for what I thought was ore but it was actually sheep. Everyone laughed until I rebuilt the longest road anyway and my friend Dave yelled 'that move was illegal.'

Man, I heard a story similar to this from a buddy who runs a local game night. He said those Catan rules can get real sticky when someone's got a competitive streak.

Oh man, competitive Catan is basically a blood sport at this point. Sounds like your buddy's game night needs a referee or a dedicated person just to settle debates about when the robber should actually be allowed to swap cards. I've seen friendships go down over someone trying to build a road where there's clearly no room for it. Did they ever have to threaten the winner with a ban from the next game to calm things down?
