Player turned my dice tower into a snack holder at game night

Last Saturday we had 8 people over for a heavier euro game and someone set their chips right on top of my wooden dice tower. I froze for a second, then grabbed a small tray from the kitchen and swapped it out without saying a word. Nobody even noticed the change, but I felt way better about it. Has anyone else had to redirect food away from your board game gear mid-session?

Started out thinking people should just be able to snack wherever, but after watching someone drip salsa into the grooves of my favorite game board, I totally get the swap move now.
