My brother in law made me question my whole board game collection in 30 seconds flat
So I was at my sister's place for Thanksgiving last month and her husband Dave saw my shelf of about 40 games I've been collecting for 5 years. He picked up Scythe and was like 'so you just buy these to look at them right?' I laughed it off but then he asked me how many I've actually played more than twice. I counted in my head and it was like maybe 8. That hit different because I realized I spend more time researching and organizing my games than actually playing them. I even have a spreadsheet with color coded ratings for games I've never even opened. Dave doesn't even play board games so I don't know why his dumb question stuck with me so much. Has anyone else had a non-gamer say something that made you rethink your whole hobby?
