Just lost a 4-hour campaign save because the game board slid off the table mid-round

My cat jumped up on the corner of the dining table last night and knocked the whole damn thing over (cards, tokens, minis everywhere) and now I have to restart from scratch because the scenario was a one-shot with no checkpoint system, has anyone else had a pet ruin a game night like that?

Oh man, I used to be one of those people who thought it was overkill to lock game components down or use a board topper. I was like "nah, it's fine, just be careful." Then my dog decided to go full zoomies and ran right through the leg of our coffee table. The whole board flipped and pieces went everywhere. It was a Gloomhaven scenario we were like three hours into and we had just figured out the perfect strategy. Now I'm the person who puts dice towers on the floor and uses binder clips to keep the board secured to the table. You learn your lesson the hard way I guess. Hopefully your next attempt goes better and your cat decides to take a nap instead.
