Just hit 100 logged plays of my copy of Agricola and it's basically a history book now
I was updating my stats on BoardGameGeek last night and the number popped up. The box is held together with tape, the resource cubes are all shiny, and the player boards have permanent dents from where we've pressed the pieces down. My wife pointed out that the 'Major Improvement' cards have little grease stains from snack nights. It's wild to think about all the arguments over who gets the first grain and the quiet victories from a well-timed plow. Has anyone else's copy of a game gotten this physically worn from pure love?

My copy of Catan is basically a fossil record of my bad trades, lmao. The robber token is chewed up from me angrily picking at it, and the number chits are all faded from being handled so much. It's a miracle the board hasn't split in half from all the times I've flipped it over in defeat.

Game wear tells the real story.

Wait the robber token is actually chewed up? Like you literally bit it out of frustration? I've seen some beat up game pieces before but that's a whole new level of wear and tear. My group always treated the robber like a sacred artifact, nobody would dare mess with it because we all knew the person who broke it would be cursed with bad dice rolls for life. Honestly your Catan set sounds like it has more character than any pristine copy I've seen, those faded chits tell stories of every deal gone wrong.
