Hit 500 plays on one deckbuilder and I'm not convinced it's that deep
I logged my 500th game of Dominion on BGG last night and honestly, I think people overrate how much strategy is really there. Most wins come down to who grabs the right card first in the opening shuffle, not some grand plan. Has anyone else hit a big number on a game and felt it didn't live up to the hype?

Hit 500 plays of Race for the Galaxy a couple years back and yeah, same thing. The first few rounds are just praying you draw the right production planets before your opponent does. The game pretends like there's all this deep tableau building but really it's whoever gets the 6-cost develop card first wins 90% of the time. I stopped logging plays after that because it just felt like I was fooling myself into thinking I was getting better when it was mostly luck lol. Still a fun game don't get me wrong but people talk about it like it's chess and it's really just a slightly smarter random draw.

It's like how everyone says hard work pays off but really it's just who gets the lucky break first, same thing different game.
