Had to pick between a 4-player co-op or a competitive game for game night last Friday
I grabbed the co-op game because one friend hates losing, and now nobody wants to play anything else because we all got hooked on working together - has anyone else had a group switch permanently after one good co-op session?

lol that Overcooked thing is real, I swear that game is the ultimate friendship test. My group went from almost throwing controllers at each other in Mario Kart to like...weeping with joy when we finally beat a level in Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime. The guy who used to flip the board over Monopoly is now our designated healer and honestly its kinda scary how chill he got. I legit think co-op games unlock some kind of hidden brain chemistry that makes you forget you ever enjoyed trash talking each other. We tried going back to Smash Bros last week and it just felt wrong, like we were betraying each other for no reason. So yeah welcome to the cult I guess, hope you like never feeling competitive anger again.

I read this article about how cooperative games actually build stronger group bonds than competitive ones because of something called "shared goal dopamine" or whatever. My group went through the SAME thing after we played Overcooked one night. That game literally tore us apart at first but then we got so good at communicating it became our thing. Now it's been like eight months and we haven't touched a single competitive game. Even the guy who used to rage quit when he lost is way more chill now. The co-op switch is REAL and I honestly don't see us going back.
