Had a guy at a convention in Denver completely flip my board game group on its head
I was at Denver Comic Con last fall, not even looking for board games, just browsing the artist alley. This older dude was running a demo of some obscure tile-laying game I'd never heard of, and he spent 15 minutes explaining how he house-rules every single game he owns. It hit me that my group had been playing the same five titles for 2 years and never once changed a rule. Now I can't stop tweaking everything, and my friends are getting annoyed. Anyone else ever had a random stranger reshape how you approach game nights?

Bet your friends are REAL happy about this new hobby.

Agree with you @robertsmith completely. I took up woodworking last year and now my friends groan every time I mention it because I just start talking about grain patterns and dovetail joints for an hour. They don't understand the satisfaction of making something with your hands, you know? My wife rolls her eyes when I drag her to the hardware store to buy clamps I definitely don't need. But hey, better than sitting around watching TV all weekend. I figure anyone who gives you grief about this hobby just hasn't found their own thing yet.
