Debate: solo board gaming vs group nights - which actually improves your skills faster?

I spent 6 months grinding Spirit Island solo, got really good at strategy. Then I joined a weekly group and my whole playstyle fell apart because I couldn't predict people. Which approach do you think builds better game sense long term?

Solo gaming teaches you systems, group gaming teaches you people. They're different skills entirely. Spirit Island solo makes you a god at puzzle solving but group play is basically applied psychology with dice.

That's spot on, solo taught me resource management but groups taught me when to shut up and let someone else take the lead.
