A stranger's hot take on dice towers changed how I run game night

Last month at a con in Pittsburgh, some guy watched me set up my dice tower and said "you know that thing slows the game down by like 20 minutes over a night, right?" I laughed it off, but then I timed it. Sure enough, my group rolls faster when we just chuck dice on the table. We've played 2 extra rounds of Dune Imperium every session since I packed the tower away. Anyone else ditch their fancy accessories after actually counting the time?
