3 years ago I brought Catan to a cabin trip and lost 2 friends for the whole weekend
Three years back, me and 5 buddies rented a cabin near Lake George for a long weekend, and I made the mistake of packing Catan instead of something lighter. By Friday night the trade table had turned into actual arguing over sheep, and one guy refused to talk to my roommate till Sunday morning. We finished 4 games in 2 days and I swear the last one took 3 hours because nobody would accept a single trade. What finally saved the trip was breaking out a dumb little card game where nobody had to negotiate anything. Now I always bring one no-negotiation game as backup, but I'm curious what you all use to cool a table down when a trading game gets too heated. Do you just cap the games or swap to something co-op?
