Went to an open adoption meeting in Denver last Tuesday
I visited an open adoption support group at a church in Denver last week. There were about 15 birth moms there sharing their stories and I was surprised how open everyone was about their feelings. One woman said she still gets Christmas cards from the adoptive family after 12 years. I'm considering an open adoption and it helped me picture what that might look like. Has anyone else here tried a support group like that before making your decision?

That part about the Christmas cards got me, I can barely remember to send my own family holiday cards half the time." Support groups sound nice and all, but I'd probably end up cracking jokes to keep from crying (which is basically my default mode at anything emotional).
