Visited the spot my birth mom left me at and it was a gas station bathroom

I drove down to the old truck stop off I-94 in Michigan last weekend. The place where my birth mom supposedly left me as a newborn. It's just a run-down gas station with a bathroom that barely has a lock on the door. Made me wonder if she even had a choice or if she just panicked. Has anyone else ever gone back to the place where they were left or surrendered?

You got one detail wrong, it's I-94 but you're thinking of the one near Kalamazoo right? That place has been closed for years now, nobody leaves babies there anymore. Still, the fact that you went says more about your courage than the condition of that bathroom ever could.

Those three gas stations on I-94 near Kalamazoo all closed down around 2018. I checked. You might have the wrong exit. But even if you went to the right spot, what's the point? That bathroom is just concrete and a broken toilet. It doesn't hold any answers. She left you there because she wanted to. That's the only story that bathroom tells.
