Rant: The adoption agency kept calling me the wrong name for 3 months
I got matched with a family back in March and the agency case worker kept calling me by the birth name of the kid on every single call. I corrected her maybe 6 times before I finally just started saying "that's not my name" at the start of every conversation. She finally put a sticky note on her monitor. Anyone else have an agency get basic stuff wrong for way too long?

Feels you on this one. I had a similar thing happen with my case worker for like two months straight. Every voicemail started with the wrong name, every email had the wrong name in the subject line. I started wondering if she even had my file open half the time. That sticky note trick is genius honestly, I wish I had thought of that before I just gave up and started answering to the wrong name out of exhaustion. It's such a small thing but it really messes with you when it keeps happening.

Man that's rough. I had the same thing with my doctor's office. Every time I called, they'd call me "Mark" instead of my actual name. Drove me nuts. What finally worked for me was just being blunt about it. Next time I called, I said "Hey, my name is Jason, not Mark. Can you please put a note on my account?" It was awkward but it worked. They actually apologized and it never happened again. Sometimes you just gotta call it out politely. Better than stewing in silence and getting annoyed every time.
