Placing my daughter took 3 weeks of paperwork in 2009, and now I watch moms do it in a parking lot on a phone
When I placed my daughter back in 2009, I had to drive to an office in Boise twice, sign 40 pages with a notary, and wait for a caseworker to hand deliver everything. Now I see younger birth moms on here matching, chatting, and signing stuff on their phones in like 48 hours, sometimes from a Target parking lot. Part of me is glad the red tape is gone, but part of me wonders if it being that fast makes it easier to rush a choice you can't undo. I have a shoebox with my copy of the paperwork and a hospital bracelet, and that physical stuff matters to me way more than I expected. My caseworker back then said "you'll want a paper trail for later" and I did not get it until my daughter turned 16. Do you all keep actual paper copies or is it all digital now for you too?
