I always thought open adoption was a scam until my daughter's mom proved me wrong

I was 19 when I placed my baby for adoption, and the agency pushed this whole open adoption thing. I figured it was just talk and I'd never hear from them again after the papers were signed. But 8 years later, I get photos every 3 months plus actual visits twice a year. Her adoptive mom even calls me to chat about school stuff. Has anyone else had their first adoption plan actually work out the way it was promised?

The 3 month photo schedule sounds really consistent. Did you guys agree on that right from the start or did it change over time? I'm always curious how people actually handle the boundaries after the first few years.

That's awesome. People surprise you when you least expect it.
