Hit 8 years as a birth mom and it hit me different this time

I started counting after placement and 8 years snuck up on me completely last Tuesday. Did any of you have a milestone that felt heavier or lighter than you expected?

Wait, are you saying a birth mom milestone feeling heavy is a surprise? I mean no disrespect but 8 years is a long time to carry that weight, isn't it?

Is it really that surprising though? Eight years doesn't just wipe out the feelings from the day you placed them, does it? What kind of person would just shrug that off like it's nothing?
