Dropped $180 on a used breast pump for my open adoption and now I feel dumb

I bought a used Medela pump off a mom group in Fort Worth for $180 when I was 6 months pregnant, thinking I'd pump and freeze milk for the adoptive parents before the birth. Turns out the hospital gave me a way better one for free on my insurance, and the adoptive mom said they'd rather use formula anyway, so the thing sat in my closet until I sold it for $40. Did anyone else blow money on stuff for the adoption that just ended up collecting dust?
