Chose closed adoption over open and it's been harder than I expected
When I placed my son 3 years ago in Spokane, his adoptive parents wanted an open adoption with letters and visits. I said no because I thought it would be too painful for me to keep seeing him grow up from a distance. Now I can't find them anymore to check on him, and the agency won't give me their new address. I keep wondering if I made the wrong call. Did anyone else pick one type of adoption and later wish they had tried the other?

It's been harder than I expected" - honestly, is it really that bad though? You made the call at the time because open adoption would have been painful for you. Seems like you're just second guessing yourself now because you can't find them. Maybe try a different search method before deciding you regret the whole thing.

Got a friend who spent months trying to find a vintage sewing machine her grandma owned, drove herself crazy with online searches. Finally gave up and walked into a tiny thrift shop on a whim and there it was, sitting on a shelf like it was waiting for her. Maybe take a break for a week or two, let the search come to you instead?
